30-day access to four “Foundations” videos
Bullet-point explanation of each posture delivered via email each week
This training program is intended for the beginning student who is not quite ready to take on the challenges of a typical “all levels” yoga class, but has always wanted to try.
It’s great for newer students who may feel too intimidated or overwhelmed to join other set series or flow-based yoga classes for the first time. This 4-week course will familiarize new students with both the language of yoga and the methods used to work into various postures. Students will cultivate a deeper understanding of how to develop their individual practice.
At the end of the program, students will be able to confidently participate in any of the other yoga classes offered at the studio. Although these classes are geared towards learning the foundations of yoga, they present a physical challenge nonetheless. Students will improve both their strength and balance and increase their flexibility and range of motion in multiple planes.
Online Program Time Commitment:
3 hours of online class time
45 minutes of Zoom Q&A (15 minutes after each live classes)
Additional practice as desired utilizing “Foundations” videos
This training is designed to be integrated into a busy weekday schedule. Each week of the 4-week program features three live sessions led by different instructors in order to give students multiple perspectives on similar sequences.
Each live class is followed by a 15-minute online Q&A session with the instructor during which students can get any clarifications needed in order to practice on their own (ideally twice) during the week using the “Foundations” videos as a guide.
The sequence progresses each week by building on the skills learned during the previous live sessions and solidified during the week.
The series begins with pranayama (breathing) techniques, progresses through challenging balancing and strength-based postures and concludes with a stretching series performed on the mat. Through this framework, students will be exposed to the magic of practice and will walk away with practical tools for calming the mind and realigning the body.
